National Guard

Illinois National Guard is a joint army and air force organization. It stands shoulder-to-shoulder to provide defense solutions. The organization operates Illinois Army National Guard, which includes more than 10,000 members. Illinois National Guard also manages Illinois Air National Guard, which comprises over 3,200 members, weapons ranges, training areas, and nearly 40 vehicle storage and maintenance buildings in approximately 47 communities in Illinois. Illinois National Guard provides well-equipped personnel and units to support national military strategy, state requirements and local community needs. It operates under the Illinois Department of Military Affairs, which oversees and manages the daily operations of the Illinois National Guard.
