Messiah Lutheran Church

Finnish Messiah Lutheran Church in Portland, Oregon is a congregation deeply rooted in Finnish heritage, with many members being immigrants from Finland, descendants of immigrants, or married to Finns. They are supported by the Finnish community, who attend special events and services and contribute financially, often traveling long distances to be a part of the church.

The church has been fortunate to have retired pastors from Finland serve on a volunteer basis, with pastors Seppo Airas and Jouko Paukkunen being particularly appreciated for their ongoing support and friendship. In between their visits, lay members of the congregation lead church services. The church gathers at the MLC Chapel inside Nordia House and welcomes all to join their bilingual community.
