Megan A. Cohen, MD, MPH, is an experienced OB GYN specialist with a special focus on contraception, family planning, and global health. She has a strong background in research and has worked on various projects aimed at improving reproductive health outcomes both in the United States and abroad. Dr. Cohen is dedicated to increasing contraceptive access and reducing barriers to use, as well as improving peripartum outcomes and addressing reproductive health disparities. She is currently an Instructor and Complex Family Planning Fellow at the OHSU Center for Women's Health in Portland, OR.
With a medical degree and Master's in Public Health from Emory University, Dr. Cohen completed her residency in OB GYN at OHSU and went on to pursue a Global Women's Health Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. She has conducted research on topics such as the impact of Oregon's Reproductive Health Equity Act on contraceptive use, the relationship between COVID-19, hormonal contraception, and thrombosis risk, and barriers to provider uptake of clinical-decision support tools for maternal and neonatal health. Dr. Cohen is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Society of Family Planning.
