Meals on Wheels People

Loaves & Fishes Centers, established in 1970, is a nonprofit organization that provides hot, nutritious meals on a donation basis to seniors 60 years and above. It serves more than 5,000 meals daily and over 1 million meals annually through nearly 7,000 volunteers. It also serves a noon lunch to active seniors at more than 30 meal centers throughout Multnomah, Washington and Clark counties in Oregon. Each menu includes salad, entree, starch, vegetable, bread, dessert and beverage. The organization provides DASH Diet for those who need diabetic, low sodium and low cholesterol meals. It also offers a wide variety of programs, from exercise and art classes to field trips and outings. Loaves & Fishes Centers is headquartered in Portland, Ore.
