Marquam Nature Park, a significant natural area managed by Portland Parks & Recreation, encompasses over 200 acres of undeveloped land and features more than 7 miles of hiking trails, making it the third largest park in Portland. The park serves as a vital connection within the 40-Mile Loop trail system and offers a serene escape from the urban environment, showcasing forested scenic views and native habitats.

In 2023, the Friends of Marquam Nature Park merged with the Forest Park Conservancy, allowing for enhanced efforts in conserving and maintaining the park's historical, natural, and recreational resources. The collaboration also aims to educate the public about the unique natural and cultural histories of both Marquam Nature Park and Forest Park.
