History
In 2015, after moving back to Portland from New York to run Cloud City Sound, I was in need of a small studio of my own for mixing, editing and pre-production. I found a single room available in Saint David of Wales Episcopal Church that, with the help of some dedicated interns, I gradually molded into what is now the Room 13 control room. That worked for a while, but clients began asking to make their entire records in my humble little one-room studio. While this was flattering, I prefer a little more space when working with bands. Before I knew it, I had expanded Room 13 Recording Services into the surrounding rooms and, when called for, up into the beautiful St. David's sanctuary. A lot of sound treatment and gear later, we have the fully realized Room 13 Recording Services - great-sounding rooms full of great-sounding gear, and a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere for producing inspired works of music.
