At Johan Vineyards, our goal is to create a self-sustained holistic farm system able to produce an honest interpretation of this philosophy for human experience. Located in Oregon’s Willamette Valley within the newly established Van Duzer Corridor AVA, terroir is the guiding force behind our winegrowing approach. We believe this sense of place, the essence of our farm, is best expressed through our deep commitment to Biodynamic farming practices, native-yeast fermentation, and minimal intervention in the cellar. We see our entire farm as one living organism, a holistic system that will showcase its identity through the fruit it develops. Our goal is to understand and sustain the unity of this system in order to create original and compelling wines with a distinct sense of place. Rather than aiming for a preconceived style or formula, we instead rely upon observation and instinct, embracing the unique expression of each vintage while always striving to craft wines with balance.
