The Fred E. Harlow House is a farmhouse built by the son of Capt. John Harlow in 1900. Capt. Harlow built a rural retreat in the 1870s along the Sandy River. He built trout ponds and called his farm Troutdale. The City of Troutdale was incorporated in 1907.
