History

Green Wire was born as Ehlers Technical Consulting in 2003. ETC serviced the Portland area proudly for 5 years before shifting gears and focus to whole new way of approaching the computer repair industry. In the summer of 2008, the founders of ETC decided to change the way they dealt with broken computers. The idea of Green Wire was born after the founders of ETC learned just how much e-waste is produced each year from old and abandoned computers. From that point on, Green Wire would focus on extending the life of computers (as opposed to replacing them). They would also go on to partner with a non-profit computer reuse and recycling center, Free Geek to ensure that when someone did get rid of a computer, it was properly disposed of. Today, Green Wire continues in that crusade, helping people get the most out of their PCs and Macs, and rescuing old and broken computers from a landfill fate.
