A.C. Gilbert's Discovery Village, founded in 1989, is a private nonprofit children's museum located in downtown Salem in Riverfront Park, Ore. The museum provides innovative and stimulating educational experiences to children through fun and challenging exhibits, summer camps, birthday parties, membership opportunities and outreach programs in the sciences, arts and humanities. The village's mission is to provoke curiosity, inspire awe, foster enjoyment, encourage learning and enable understanding in youth. The museum s exhibits are housed in various Victorian homes, including Gilbert House, Parrish House, Rockenfield House, the Little Gem Grocery and Wilson-Durbin House. The village has partnerships with various organizations, including the Association of Science Technology Centers, Association of Children's Museums, Salem Downtown Association, and Mission Mill Museum.

Inaccurate hours posted on the website. The website says it is open on Mondays and we drove an hour to visit to find them closed.

Very fun experience for the kids. Well organized and very easy to navigate. So much to see not enough energy for all of it. They have made activities accessible to children of different ages.

What an amazing place for your children to spread their imaginations with so many different areas to explore and play in you could easily spend the whole day here. The parking is very limited....
