Founded in 1986, Western Psychological and Counseling Services, also known as Western, is a mental health agency that provides outpatient behavioral health, chemical dependency and psychiatric services. It works in association with various insurance and managed care companies. The agency works with a team of psychiatrists, mental health nurse practitioners, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers and marriage and family therapists and chemical dependency counselors. Western Psychological and Counseling Services offers medication management, psychological testing and evaluations, and drug and alcohol assessment and treatment services. It also provides child and adolescent, play, family and group therapy services. The agency additionally practices in the areas of sexual, physical and domestic violence, as well as crisis intervention, anger management and chronic pain. A major focus of my practice continues to be relationship and sex therapy, although I enjoy working with individual issues as well. These include overcoming childhood trauma and managing life's transitions and challenges. I became an AASECT certified sex therapist in 1975, and have both practiced and taught in that specialty ever since.
