Fort Knox Mailbox began in 1994 when Frank Schroeder, a victim of mail theft, created the original Fort Knox Mailbox out of necessity. Named after the famed security of Fort Knox, KY, the mailbox provided a solution to his weekly mail troubles. As a retired Navy Seal veteran with a disability, Schroeder initially produced the mailboxes locally but later handed over production to the Crisp Family. In 1997, Mike and Janet Crisp, along with their son Mike Crisp, Jr., expanded the product line, introducing new designs and enhancing security features. Since then, Fort Knox Mailbox has grown, with tens of thousands of units shipped across America and abroad. Each mailbox undergoes meticulous production stages, including cutting, welding, and powder coating, ensuring durability and security. The company's small size allows for individual attention to each product, reflecting their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
