DPA is a subsidiary of StanCorp Financial Group, which provides employee benefit products and services, such as life and disability insurance products for employer groups and individuals in the United States. Established in 1906, it operates in three segments that include employee benefits, individual insurance and retirement plans. The employee benefits segment sells disability, life, accidental death and dismemberment and dental insurance products to employer groups. The individual insurance segment sells disability insurance and annuity products, such as guaranteed renewable coverage to individuals. The retirement plans segment offers investment and administrative services for qualified and nonqualified retirement plans to small- and medium-sized employers. In addition, it provides investment advisory services to third parties. StanCorp sells its insurance products through sales representatives, agents, brokers and consultants. DPA maintains a location in Portland, Ore.
