Founded in 1908, Umpqua National Forest covers an area of more than 1 million acres in Douglas, Lane and Jackson counties and borders Crater Lake National Park. The four ranger districts that comprise the forest are Cottage Grove, Diamond Lake, North Umpqua and Tiller Ranger. Headquartered in Roseburg, the forest is managed by the United States Forest Service.
