Dorris Ranch is a national historic site and a living history farm located in Springfield, Oregon. It is also a working commercial filbert orchard and a public park with walking trails and natural areas. The ranch is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and is recognized as the first commercial filbert orchard in the United States.
Established in 1892 by George Dorris and his wife Lulu, Dorris Ranch has a rich history in filbert farming. Over the years, the ranch has planted thousands of filbert trees and harvested tons of nuts annually. Despite facing challenges such as Eastern Filbert Blight, the ranch continues to operate as a fully-productive commercial filbert orchard, contributing to the growth of filbert trees across the country.
