Our goal is to help our members succeed by assisting them to meet the care needs of long term care consumers and their families. It is estimated that by the 2020, America's population of those aged 85 and older will double to over 7 million people. By the year 2050, this number is projected to grow to between 19 and 27 million people. Planning for long term care is essential to meeting this growing need. OHCA member facilities provide services to over 40, 000 Oregonians each day. In addition, our members provide employment opportunities for approximately 30, 000 Oregonians. Many facilities provide specialized services and programs including: Alzheimer's or dementia-related conditions, programs for pediatric patients, and victims of serious head injuries or trauma. Our members seek to maximize their residents choice, dignity and independence. The information and facility directory on the following pages is designed to provide useful information for consumers to assist in planning for and arranging long term care services for themselves and their families.
