Campbell Club

History

The Campbell Club is a student housing co-op that began in 1935 as an experiment to prove that a group of people could live communally and more affordably during the Depression era. Proving successful, membership (limited to men-only) grew and the location changed a number of times to accommodate its members. Originally on 13th and Kincaid, the Campbell Club moved to its current location at 1670 Alder St in 1962. It became co-ed soon after, making room for women to become members in 1967.

Specialties

The Students' Cooperative Association is a member-owned-and-operated non-profit organization that provides affordable housing for students of Lane County. As a member of the Campbell Club, you have a responsibility to your house and community and help make decisions for the organization through the process of consensus and equal voting rights. As co-owners, we are essentially our own landlord and put in the collective effort to maintain and run our household.
