History

My Aunt and Uncle started Northstar Mortgage in Utah in 1998 as a small family owned mortgage broker. After my mother-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-law all joined the team shortly after, and I finally decided to switch careers. I joined Northstar Mortgage in 2003 and moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2004 to help grow the new Oregon branch. We now have 10 family members, along with several dozen other Loan Officers and staff that have helped make this family-owned and locally operated business what it is today.

Specialties

We broker mortgages. A lot of people don't know what that means. In a nutshell, it means that we shop out the best rates, the fastest turn-around times, and the coolest loan programs from dozens of lenders. Because we have access to so many programs, there aren't many situations that we haven't already seen or can't finance. Sure, we mostly deal with conventional loans on residential purchases and refis, or provide government purchases and refinances (FHA, VA, USDA)... But we also can do construction loans, investment properties, tough to document loans, or lending for non-citizen residents.
