Housed in the former Natatorium, 33,000 sq ft of permanent and changing exhibits tell the stories of the real people and businesses that developed the region following the discovery of gold in the mountains nearby the Oregon Trail. Home to the world renowned Cavin Warfel Rock Collection, one of the largest in the western US.

Such a great museum! We had no idea it was so big. The kids really enjoyed looking at all the different exhibits. You can easily stay hours here looking at everything. Even the gift shop is well...

What a find! This is the hidden gem of the area. We spent 2 hours and were surprised how much we learned. Did you know that Mr Baker was a contemporary of Lincoln and beat him in an election?...

This is an excellent museum. The items are displayed very well. Well worth a stop and take a look. Staff and docents are excellent.
