The Joseph H. Williams Tallgrass Prairie Preserve, located in Pawhuska, OK, is the largest protected piece of tallgrass prairie left on earth, spanning 39,650 acres. Since 1989, The Nature Conservancy in Oklahoma has been working to restore this unique ecosystem with the use of free-ranging bison and prescribed burning.
