The Oklahoma State Capitol Building in Oklahoma City, OK is a stunning architectural masterpiece constructed between 1914 and 1917 in the classic Greco-Roman style by celebrated architect Solomon Layton. Composed mainly of white limestone with a base of Oklahoma pink granite, the Capitol building features a magnificent dome that was completed in 2002 according to Layton's original designs, 85 years after its construction.

The Oklahoma Arts Council, located within the Capitol building, is the official state agency dedicated to supporting and developing the arts in Oklahoma. With a mission to promote and enhance the cultural vitality of the state, the Council offers various programs and grants, including the Art in Public Places initiative and the Governor's Arts Awards, to foster artistic expression and engagement within the community.
