The Midwest City Fire Department offers a range of emergency rescue and risk management services. It works to protect the environment, lives and properties from man-made and natural disasters. The department removes and rescues injured and endangered people. It operates a public education office that develops, implements and evaluates various life safety programs. The department administers the Learn Not to Burn program for preschool and kindergarten students. It conducts Operation FireSAFE program for children between the ages of 4 and 15. The department also administers Remembering When and Storm Shelter Registry programs. It operates a fire prevention bureau that provides inspection, investigation and testing solutions, as well as determines the origin and cause of fires.
