History
In 2014, the Chesapeake Swim Club lost its funding from its corporate sponsor and was forced to make some changes. Then current CEO/Head Coach John Brown along with fellow coaches Kathy Mendez and Josh Everett decided to pursue their vision for a coach-owned swim team. The coaches believed this structure would ensure stability and continuity for their athletes and families. The King Marlin Swim Club then emerged. The club is supported by its parents through the KMSC Booster Club, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
