Joe Carroll Zuerker, MD

My earliest memory of wanting to be in medicine dates back to fifth grade. And then in high school, I just pursued a curriculum that supported it and then into college and never looked back. I think I enjoy taking care of our pregnant patients the most because in most cases, it's a very happy and special time. And when do you get to go to the doctor when you're happy? So that's a unique, unique situation.But we also work with people and help them through some of the most trying times in their lives and being able to be there for people when they need someone the most and feel the most vulnerable. I?m passionate about making sure everyone can get the care that they deserve. I just hope that any patient that comes to see me at our practice feels like they've received the best care and feels like from the time that they get there to the time that they leave, they get results that let them know they're in good hands.

I chose to go into medicine because at a young age, I realized that I had compassion and a caring heart for others. And it just seemed natural for me to go into this field to help others. When I started nursing school and saw a baby being born, that was it. I worked in labor and delivery for over ten years before I went into women's health. I love my specialty, which is caring for women across the entire span of their lives. I especially have a special place in my heart for adolescents. The women who come to our clinic have questions and concerns and they often have very difficult things they need to talk about. And I strive to create a caring and comfortable environment where they feel safe sharing their needs so that I can better address them.
