HistoryMy wife, Ashley, and I opened McCortney Family Hospice in Ada in 2004 in an effort to make sure families in our surrounding communities have access to the best that hospice has to offer. That philosophy extends to our Norman office as well. Our staff work and live in the same communities as our patients, and we have deep roots in Oklahoma. Since we're not a branch of some larger chain, we don't have to answer to corporate bureaucrats or profit-hungry stockholders. I personally am blessed to be part of the third generation of McCortneys to live and operate a business in Ada, and I expect I will not be the last. I am further honored by the chance to serve my state and my industry as a member of Governor Mary Fallin's Hospice Advisory Board. As the founder of McCortney Family Hospice, I make you one promise. Good Shepherd Hospice opened its first office in Oklahoma City in 1995. Inspired by a mission of providing compassionate and progressive hospice care, founder Don Greiner led a small team of dedicated staff as they grew from their first admission on February 28 to 188 patients by the end of that year. The name “Good Shepherd Hospice” was created by our company founder who was touched by a moving quote from Abraham Lincoln, “I have been driven to my knees many times by the overwhelming conviction that I have nowhere else to go.” Wanting a name that would impart a message of comfort to patients and families and encourage staff to aspire to care for patients as lovingly as possible the image of The Good Shepherd spoke to this need

SpecialtiesHeartland Hospice Services provides hospice care to terminally ill patients wherever they call home. At Heartland, we care for the body, mind and spirit of our patients and families. We tailor our care to fit the patients and families unique needs and encourage the involvement of family and friends at every step of the way. Our hospice program includes nursing care, pain management, counseling for patients and families, bereavement services, living will and pastoral support. Heartland believes wholeheartedly in the power of the individual, the importance of relationships and the value of respect and dignity to everyone at every stage of life. Our goal is to create a positive difference in every patients day, to make a personal connection and create memorable momentsmoments that enrich the lives of each of our patients.
