Fire Department
The Newcastle Fire Department, established in 1967, began as an all-volunteer department and has since evolved into a team of 19 paid and 10 volunteer firefighters operating from 3 stations. They provide fire suppression, emergency medical services, rescue operations, fire prevention, and other emergency and non-emergency services under the leadership of Fire Chief Todd Yates.
Supported by the community, City Council, and City Management, the department responds to an average of 1,200 calls annually, offering programs such as Fire Prevention Week, MDA Fill the Boot, health fairs, and community events to serve and engage with the residents of Newcastle and surrounding areas.
