Dereck Aaron Peery, DO

At an early age I knew I wanted to be a doctor because I saw the amazing care my family received and wanted to do the same for others in need. Being a general surgeon, I love being able to provide quicker solutions to my patient's healthcare needs. I also enjoy seeing an issue or ailment prior to surgery and then after surgery seeing the results. My goal is to help my patients get back to living their normal, healthy lives.

As an orthopedic surgeon, I'm driven by the profound impact that restoring function and alleviating pain has on the lives of my patients. My commitment to providing up-to-date, evidence-based care ensures the highest quality for each one of my patients. I take great pride in offering minimally invasive robotic joint replacement surgery, as it improves surgical precision and promotes faster recovery. The most rewarding aspect of my practice is witnessing improvements in my patients' quality of life after surgery. Knowing that I have helped them return to activities they enjoy motivates me to work hard every day with enthusiasm and dedication.

I'm very passionate about colon cancer screening. I would rather give someone the news of, 'Yes you have a mass in your colon' versus, 'We got a CT scan, and cancer is everywhere and there's nothing we can do.' I am very much one of those people who comes in and asks you how your grandchildren are. I know your pets' names usually. I like to interact with my patients. My son one time in Walmart looked at me and said, 'You just started talking to that person. How do you do that?' I said, 'It's kind of what I do.'
