Sweet Adelines International is a highly respected worldwide organization of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performance. This independent, nonprofit music education association is one of the world's largest singing organizations for women. Members extend over five continents and belong to more than 500 choruses and 1, 200 quartets. Youth at Heart is a nonprofit organization formed in 2003 by the merger of Destination Discovery and Helping Hands of Tulsa. It provides cultural and educational after-school and summer programs that offer alternatives to idleness, vandalism, school truancy, drug use and gang-related activities. The agency s program serves youths between the ages of 6 and 18 who live in Tulsa s public housing communities and low-income apartment complexes. Additionally, it organizes various recreational activities, such as summer camps, field trips and events, as well as offers lunch and snacks.
