History
Addis Ceramics sits at a unique and challenging intersection of small-scale artisan workshop and microscale industrial ceramic production. We are potters at our core. Each bowl, plate, and mug is hand crafted by Mariah Addis with regionally sourced materials, and glazed with durable color-rich glazes formulated in house by her partner Grant Akiyama. We believe in the value of well-made, and materially rich objects-- our work should be beautiful and functional. It should be made for daily, life-long use. Our goal is to revivify the craft of handmade objects in an era of inexpensive foreign goods. Addis Ceramics re-centers consumer interest on localities, quality, and artistry.
