Woodland Park

Located in Fremont, Ohio, the Fremont Community Recreation Complex operates and maintains parks and recreational facilities. The department operates more than 50 parks that include picnic shelters, trails, and athletic fields and courts. Its facilities also include a multipurpose recreational unit that is home to a majority of the department's programs and activities. In addition to building, maintaining and operating these facilities, the Fremont Community Recreation Complex sponsors instructional classes, special activities and programs, athletics, workshops and clinics, trips, social activities, community meetings and much more for children and adults. The department employs more than 200 people in various seasonal and part-time capacities.

The Oakwoods Metropark Nature Center in New Boston, MI offers a serene escape in the heart of southeast Michigan, with approximately 350 acres of nature study area, interactive exhibits showcasing local wildlife and history, and a unique indoor turtle pond. Visitors can get up-close to resident animals like Red-tailed Hawk, Great Horned Owl, water turtles, and native reptiles and amphibians, while exploring newly designed exhibits focusing on the Huron-Wyandot Native Americans. With its flat and accessible trails, including the Butterfly Viewing Area and Sky-Come-Down trail, Oakwoods Metropark provides a peaceful setting for nature enthusiasts to enjoy the tall trees, woodland scenery, and the backwaters of the Huron River.
