I am a medical oncology hospitalist who specializes in treating all types of solid cancers, including lung cancer, breast cancer and colon cancer. I also serve as a clinical assistant professor of internal medicine in the Department of Medical Oncology at The Ohio State Universit ncology is a fast-growing and important field that gives me the ability to develop long-term relationships with patients and connect on a truly personal level. One of the most important qualities a physician can have is compassion, especially for cancer patients. I love talking to and learning from patients, and I appreciate their ability to open their lives to me. It's always humbling to know that someone has trusted me to care for them, and it's something I never take for grante he OSUCCC - James is a wonderful institution that fosters great research and patient care. Every day, new trials are being conducted, and the results of this research will only help to create improved treatments for the future. I really enjoy the multidisciplinary approach to cancer care, and I feel fortunate to be able to work with so many dynamic groups. I aspire to learn from other specialists and better myself through the endless academic opportunities that The James provides, both as a teacher and researcher.

As a psychologist, I specialize in providing effective psychological treatments to adolescents and young adults who have experienced the recent onset of a psychotic disorder or are showing warning signs of being at risk of developing a psychotic disorder. These treatments, called empirically supported treatments (ESTs), are crucial to helping patients manage their specific mental health condition(s). My philosophy involves placing the patient at the center of all care decisions and helping them accomplish their personal recovery goal 'm fortunate to work at the Early Psychosis Intervention Center, where I'm part of a multidisciplinary team that provides specialty care for individuals with psychosis. In my research, I focus on understanding factors that contribute to suicide risk among individuals with psychosis. My goal is to improve suicide risk assessment and develop novel treatments to help individuals with psychosis manage suicidal thought hat I love most about The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is the sense of community. I am a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in psycho-oncology, psychosocial distress, behavioral sleep medicine, chronic pain management, weight management, relaxation training and coping with chronic illness. In my role, I strive to provide thoughtful, compassionate care to patients by helping them to identify areas of change and guide them in learning the most appropriate coping strategies to use for overcoming emotional distres s a member of the Psychosocial Oncology Program at the OSUCCC - James, I provide evidence-based counseling services to patients with a history of cancer and-or to their caregiver(s) to help improve emotional and social well-being, as well as overall quality of life. Patients complete a formal evaluation for a personalized care plan to address their individual needs, ranging from emotional distress to improving their ability to cope with side effects of cancer and its treatment y research interests include psycho-oncology and quality of life during treatment for cancer and cancer survivorship. Specifically, my research focuses on evaluating longitudinal patterns in health-related quality of life, cancer-related distress, health disparities and cultural factors, and the development and evaluation of psychosocial interventions in cancer patient population n addition to my clinical and research work, I am an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health. I also serve as co-chair on the Evidence-Based Behavioral Medicine Special Interest Group for the Society of Behavioral Medicine. I really enjoy working at Ohio State because I'm able to provide top-notch care for my patients and help train the clinicians of tomorrow in the Psychology Internship Program and the Psychiatry Resident Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy Clinic.
