The Westerville Police Division is a full-service law enforcement agency that protects residents lives, property and individual rights, as well as maintains peace and order. It employs a staff of more than 75 full-time sworn officers and over 40 civilians and community volunteers. The Westerville Police Division offers services for bicycle and foot patrol, commercial vehicle enforcement and use of the speed monitor signs. The department supports the Crime Stoppers program, which is affiliated with the National Crime Stoppers Organization and provides opportunities for citizens to report illegal activities to volunteers of the program. It aims to preserve peace, protect residents lives and their properties, arrest violators, prevent and deter crime. The department supports the Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) System, which is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women.
