The Underground Railroad Museum in Flushing, Ohio, was founded in 1993 by Dr. John S. Mattox and his late wife Rosalind, with the aim of preserving the history of slavery and the Underground Railroad in Ohio for future generations.

Through its exhibits and extensive collection of publications, books, memorabilia, and artifacts, the museum provides an understanding of the culture in the 1800s and highlights the active role played by the Ohio Valley area, particularly its Quaker settlers, in the Underground Railroad during the 19th century.
