As a psychologist, I focus on youth with mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder. In today's society, mental disorders are still highly stigmatized, yet their impact can be very real and painful for those who have them. Mental illness can be as severe and limiting as any physical disorder, if not more so. I've found this to be especially true for our youth who are already adjusting and adapting to different life change y research focuses on innovative assessment and treatment strategies to effectively restore a child's mental health in the context of his or her family. I strongly believe that comprehensive assessments lead to treatment plans that can be tailored to each child's unique need ere at The Ohio State University our clinical research is changing how care is provided at the national level. I'm impressed with how adeptly our trainees move forward while bringing our mission of excellence to other n my free time I enjoy facilitating the music group at my church and relaxing with my family. I also enjoy being outdoors and traveling, when I am able.
