The Kirby Company

Jim Kirby began inventing products for cleaning as early as 1906, when he invented a machine that employed water for dirt removal. Since then, the Kirby name and the products associated with that name have grown immensely. The company markets a line of vacuum machine products for home cleaning. The latest model functions as an upright vacuum, a canister vacuum, carpet shampooer, straight suction floor care system, air pump and more in one unit. The machine s allergen-reduction filter captures and holds 99.97 percent of particles down to 0.1 micron in size, keeping dust mite droppings, pollen and pet dander in the bag and out of the air. Kirby home cleaning systems are sold only through in-home demonstrations by independent distributors authorized by The Kirby Company. Kirby systems can also be purchased at retail stores or through the Internet, but are not new machines and are not covered by Kirby s factory warranty or rebuild plan. The Kirby Company maintains a location in Cleveland.
