The Energy Cooperative

The Energy Cooperative is a nonprofit energy enterprise comprised of Licking Rural Electrification and its subsidiaries, which together distribute electricity to more than 22,000 consumers in nine Ohio counties, natural gas to more than 30,000 customers in 10 Ohio counties and propane to more than 3,000 consumers in eight Ohio counties. The subsidiaries also provide wholesale natural gas to high-volume consumers and secure local natural gas supplies such as oil and gas wells. The Energy Cooperative was established in 1998 when Licking Rural Electrification acquired National Gas & Oil Company and its subsidiaries: National Gas & Oil Corporation, Producers Gas Sales, NGO Development Corporation and NGO Propane. It is headquartered in Newark, Ohio.
