He began his practice in 1963 working as a private consultant in civil and structural engineering, and building design. His wide range of experience brought expertise in everything from multi-stored hotels and offices to water treatment facilities and towers. In 1996 Ernie sold his business to Brian Rostedt forming Troike-Rostedt Engineering, Inc The newly-formed partnership continued providing structural engineering consulting services to architects, builders and residential owners. Following six successful years of service and a growing client base, the company opened another chapter when Larry Teeling agreed to join Ernie and Brian, and formed Troike-Teeling-Rostedt Engineers in 2004. Having already spent forty-three years in the field ( 27 as an entrepreneur ), Larry had established himself as a skilled and respected consultant for a variety of projects, including structural seismic upgrades, adaptive re-use and rehabilitation of existing structures, and the design of commercial and institutional buildings and bulk material handling systems.
