Stephanie Ma, MD - Cincinnati Eye Institute-Blue Ash

Samantha L. Schockman, M.D. was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is a board-certified medical and surgical comprehensive ophthalmologist with a special interest in complex cataract and anterior segment surgery. Dr. Schockman graduated cum laude from Denison University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and continued on to receive her Medical Degree from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed her Ophthalmology residency training at University of Cincinnati, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. Following residency, she completed a fellowship in Complex Cataract and Anterior Segment Surgery at Cincinnati Eye Institute.

Dr. Barfell joins Cincinnati Eye Institute as a Cataract and Refractive Surgeon specializing in Laser Vision Correction. He completed his undergraduate degree at Cedarville University and received the prestigious President’s Trophy for the 2011 graduating class, awarded to one male and one female student who demonstrated leadership, campus involvement, and academic achievement. He then attended the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he participated in research involving prosthetic corneal transplants, sparking his interest in Ophthalmology. He graduated in the top quartile of his class.
