The State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio is a public pension fund that serves more than 445,000 active, inactive and retired public educators of the state. It operates under the guidelines of the Ohio Revised Code as enacted by the Ohio General Assembly. The fund is legally separate from and fiscally independent of state and local governments.
