Southern State Community College

Southern State Community College, with various campuses in Ohio, including Hillsboro, is a two-year community college. The college was established in 1985, and offers technical education and career-oriented courses. It offers associate degrees in technical and transfer programs and a wide array of adult basic literacy courses and work force training programs. The college s curriculum includes English, economics, foreign languages, mathematics, accounting, agriculture, chemistry, biology, computer science, and physical and health education. It also provides courses in business administration, allied health, electrical and industrial engineering, law enforcement, nursing, psychology, real estate and respiratory care. It also provides early childhood and continuing education. The college provides various sports activities, including baseball, basketball, soccer and volleyball. Additionally, it offers student clubs and organizations and career counseling services. Southern State Community College is approved by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
