The Willowick Police Department works to safeguard lives and property, maintain law and order, and preserve peace through the enforcement of local, state and federal laws. It has a communication center that coordinates responses to various emergency and nonemergency calls. The department undertakes cases related to juvenile crime, animal control, drug abuse and domestic violence. The Willowick Police supports the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program. It also offers child safety seat instructions for parents and free gun locks to residents, as well as conducts Halloween safety talks. The department s emergency response team is comprised of Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT) and crisis negotiations teams that respond to emergency situations. The Police Willowick Department has a computer network that utilizes a computer-aided design and a records management system. It is comprised of more than 30 full-time sworn officers and dispatchers. The department is located in Willowick, Ohio.
