Founded in 1922, Shaker Heights Public Library serves its members by providing educational and recreational materials, technological resources, and an active schedule of programs and displays. Located in Shaker Heights, Ohio, the library offers a wide range of print and nonprint materials, including books, periodicals, audiocassettes, CDs, photographs, instructional videocassettes, VHS tapes and DVDs. It also provides materials on history and activities of the city, schools, businesses, organizations, and personalities in Shaker Heights. The library offers various special programs and events, including computer classes, guest speakers, book discussion groups, art gallery, poetry readings and family programs. Its children s department offers a variety of programs, such as summer reading, after school specials, story times, and other fun and educational programs.
