Safety to Go
Safety to Go is a safety awareness and training program based in North Ridgeville, OH. Founded by Carol Mains, a seasoned educator with over 30 years of experience, the program aims to provide safety training to kindergarten and special needs children in Cuyahoga County and surrounding communities, with a particular focus on high poverty areas. Through a portable safety community equipped with traffic lights, miniature buildings, traffic signs, and more, Safety to Go offers hands-on training in various safety topics, including traffic, railroad, pedestrian, bike, water, stranger danger, anti-bullying, and more.
With a team of trained professionals, Safety to Go conducts in-classroom activities, guides hands-on practice with safety equipment, and facilitates riding through the safety community. Each student receives up to three hours of training, and the program can train 50-60 children in one school day using a station rotation system. By providing essential safety education, Safety to Go aims to prevent childhood accidents, injuries, and deaths, while also promoting an anti-bullying acceptance message.
