Ross County Senior Center

Elderly United provides an array of services for senior people. It has more than 100 employees and is located in Springfield, Ohio. The organization offers various educational and recreational activities that include art classes, bingo, cards, entertainment programs, informational seminars, potlucks and trips. It also offers services for older people with physical and mental disabilities. The organization s mental health services include diagnostic assessment and individual counseling. Its medical claim program provides assistance with insurance comparisons, living wills, estate planning, cancer policies and medical bills. Elderly United also offers transportation and employment assistance services. Additionally, the organization maintains a volunteer group that offers respite care, guardianship and money management services.

The foundation for the organization began on September 9, 1954 when United Cerebral Palsy was officially incorporated. In January of 1981 the Fairfield County Council for the Disabled was established as a non-profit organization. In January of 1993, United Cerebral Palsy and the Fairfield County Council for the Disabled merged to create Fairfield Center for disAbilities and Cerebral Palsy, Inc. (FCdCP). The purpose of the merger was to provide better delivery of the many services offered to support individuals and families in Fairfield County.

The Licking County Aging Program, administered by Licking County in Ohio, features a range of care and support services for senior citizens. The program assists in developing independence and healthy lifestyle. It includes assistance with a range of household chores, including dusting, sweeping and laundry, as well as errands related to food and medical needs. The Licking County Aging Program features a selection of social, educational and recreational activities. The program prepares more than 650 meals daily. Its Meals on Wheels program delivers food to homebound senior citizens throughout the county. The Licking County Aging Program includes health screening sessions for complications concerning hearing, blood pressure and diabetes.
