I am a licensed, board-certified clinical neuropsychologist and the director of Neuropsychology Services at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. What I enjoy most about working at Ohio State is serving patients and working as part of a broader medical community. Neuropsychological evaluation involves mostly paper-and-pencil assessment of different thinking skills, such as attention, memory, language and problem solving. Changes in mood and behavior are also measured. The evaluation characterizes any cognitive changes that have occurred as a result of a medical illness or injury. Those results are then translated into patient-centered recommendations that may include use of compensatory strategies or implementation of formal job accommodations. The overarching goal of a neuropsychological evaluation is to maximize function and independenc hile I see patients with a wide range of medical conditions, my primary area of specialization is brain tumors. I work closely with the Ohio State neuro-oncology team and have opened a neuropsychology clinic within The James to address those patients' unique need n addition to my clinical responsibilities, I am actively involved in Ohio State's robust Neuropsychology Clinical Training Program and consult on various research projects. Furthermore, I am involved in national committees focused on neuropsychology and the integration of neuropsychology within neuro-oncology.
