So much history at this place. You can do a self guided tour outside the rankin house, but to go inside you have to pay. There is a deck at the back of the gift shift to take a picnic.

This is an amazing historic site based upon its history and its majesty. It sits high above the Ohio River which one can see clearly and one can visualize how escaped slaves would see the beacon...

The Rankin House and the John P. Parker House are MUST SEE tours on your visit to Ripley! The view from in front of the Rankin House is fantastic! On a clear day you can see 7 bends in the River....
