Oxford Cemetery Association
The Oxford Cemetery, established in 1855, spans 31.4 acres and is situated just south of the Miami University campus in Oxford, Ohio. Originally founded to address the community's burial needs following the arrival of the railroad, the cemetery has a rich history marked by early community involvement and the first burial of Elizabeth Beeler Collins in the same year of its inception.
In 2023, the ownership of the cemetery transitioned to the City of Oxford after the dissolution of the Oxford Cemetery Association, which had been responsible for its management since its founding. The cemetery now serves as the final resting place for numerous notable residents and is governed by new rules and regulations set forth by the city.
