The Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mercy, also known as the Mercedarian Friars, is an international community of priests and brothers founded in 1218. They live a life of prayer and communal fraternity based on the Rule of Saint Augustine and the Constitutions of the Order, carrying on the work of their founder, Saint Peter Nolasco, by offering redemptive love to those in need.

As Mercedarians, they proclaim the freedom of the Gospel message to those in captivity and in danger of losing their faith, serving in parishes, chaplaincies, and schools. They rely on the generosity and support of the laity to fulfill their redemptive mission and form the next generation of redeemers.
