Oakland Center for the Arts established in 1986, contributed unique plays and productions to the Youngstown community. After closure in 2014, the organization was reopened with an emphasis on youths in the Youngstown area in late 2015. The youth programming has now introduced over 150 youths into or continuing their acting on the stage. We offer productions which haven't been seen before.

Community theatre done right. Don't walk in expecting something off-Broadway or even off-off. Do expect insightful, witty, relevant shows done by True Believers in the power of live performance....

The Oakland Center resurfaced in 2015, after a couple of years of being closed. I am pleased that they did and am always amazed at the dedication of the kids who participate in Kids First Theatre...
