Molly Woodford, MSN, APRN-CNP

Dr. Guillette is a pediatric optometrist at Akron Children’s Hospital, where she’s been practicing since 2021. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences School of Optometry in Worcester, Massachusetts and completed her pediatric optometry residency at Akron Children’s Hospital. Dr. Guillette is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. While she has helped to educate the optometry residents since joining our faculty in 2021, she recently took over as the Director of the Pediatric Optometry Residency Program in 2025.

Drew is a pediatric nurse practitioner at Akron Children’s. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio and a master’s degree from The University of South Alabama in Mobile, Ala. Drew has a special interest in solid tumors, blood disorders and hematology/oncology treatment and supportive care.

Dr. Pennington is a physician assistant at Akron Children’s Hospital. He’s been practicing as an assistant since 2004 and with Akron Children’s since 2015. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pa. and a doctoral degree from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Dr. Pennington has a special interest in pediatric neurology/neurosurgery, machine learning approaches for health care and computational neurobiology. He is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Dr. Pennington is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, as well as a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Society for Neuroscience.
